Run for Walk
Saturday, July 28
Last
year, the inaugural Run for Walk welcomed nearly 1,000 Northwestern
fans, supporters and friends of the late Head Coach Randy Walker, to
honor the NU former head football coach. Once again this year, the 5k
family walk will continue as part of the Run for Walk, a 4.1 mile run
through Evanston’s tree-lined streets and along the lakefront on
Northwestern’s campus. Participants will finish on Ryan Field while
watching their achievement on the video board. The unique run distance
harkens back to Randy’s uniform number 41 during his collegiate playing
days at Miami University.
Registration fee for the run or walk is $37.50 (before July 15 at 9
a.m. Will raise to $40 after that point.) and includes a short-sleeved,
purple technical shirt, a ticket to a non-conference home football game
and entry into the race day fitness fest. Northwestern students may
register for $22.50. The beneficiary of all proceeds is C.A.R.E. for the Evanston Animal Shelter, a local organization important to Randy.
Register for Run for Walk here.

This may be the ideal one. Community Day on Central Street is Saturday,

participating businesses will be given to C.A.R.E. You may ask, How
does it work?
It is as easy as 1-2-3.
- Download the flyer from the Central Street Business Association Website (www.CentralStreet-Evanston.com, you will also see the participating businesses & benefiting organizations there)
- Circle C.A.R.E.
on the flyer and bring it with you when you shop on Central Street on April 27th.
- Hand it to the cashier when you make your purchase
and the money that this specific Central Street Business has agreed to
give back will be Donated to C.A.R.E.

that the CSBA will deliver to your organization. Print out flyers for
all your family and friends. Win – Win all the way around. There is a
wide variety of stores to choose from. If you shop at more than one
store, just ask the cashier for another flyer and you are back in

Happy Husky is also doing a food and supply drive for C.A.R.E. on Community Day. Please see our wish list

or purchase items at Happy Husky for donation and C.A.R.E. will get the
